Duchovny enters rehab for sex addiction
David Duchovny has checked himself into rehab for sex addiction, it has been reported.

The 48-year-old X-Files star is married to fellow actor Tea Leoni, with whom he has two children.

The actor release a statement to People magazine, saying: ‘I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction. I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family.’

It is a development which mirrors one of his recent characters in the hit TV series Californication.

Duchovny plays Hank Moody in the show – a troubled writer living in Los Angeles who is similarly sex-obsessed.

Cable network Showtime, which broadcasts Californication, released a statement: "All of us at Showtime wish David and his family the best during this very private time."
