Victoria Beckham reveals new cropped look
Posh has revealed her new look hair at a major fashion event, prompting comparisons to pixies and Halle Berry.

The figure of fashion lost her bob, unveiling her cropped tresses at a New York Fashion Week event - the Marc Jacobs catwalk show.

One newspaper dubbed the look a "short Beck and sides".

The Daily Mail said: "She managed to upstage even Jennifer Lopez, who sat beside her in front row seats at the show."

Victoria’s bold new look comes as the former singer launches her own new fashion collection.

One fashion guru, writing for the Times noted that Victoria has repeatedly called the collection - which is comprised only of dresses - "classy" but admits that every piece is.

Lisa Armstrong, the publication’s fashion editor, said there is "not a single dud" in the small assortment.

The Guardian writes that many fashionistas have described the dresses as "desirable" and "beautiful".

Annie Lennox ‘unable to walk for 6 months’
Annie Lennox has revealed it will be six months before she can walk again, after undergoing spinal surgery.

The former Eurhythmics star was recently forced to leave an Aids conference in Mexico early when she suffered a severe back spasm.

According to the 53-year-old singer, it will take at least six months of physiotherapy before she is back on her feet.

"I could only drag my leg around the house. Something told me urgent action was required," she told the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper.

"I had micro surgery… This is the fifth time I’ve gone under the scalpel and each time I think it’s miraculous.

"I can now walk again slowly, without the drag, but it’s going to take at least six months of physiotherapy before I start to walk more normally again."

William Hill Bingo players may know that her retrospective album has now been postponed until spring 2009.

Jolie and McAvoy criticised for ‘glamourising violence’

Jolie and McAvoy criticised for ‘glamourising violence’
Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy have been accused of glamourising violence and gun crime.

Promotional posters for their action movie Wanted – which was released earlier this year – depicted both the actors brandishing firearms.

One such poster showed Jolie crouched and holding a gun pointed upwards while McAvoy carried two guns pointed at the viewer.

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has upheld some 17 complaints which were made about the images, which said they were unsuitable due to rising gun crime statistics.

"We considered that because the ads featured a glamorous actress, action poses, several images of, or related to guns and aspirational text, they could be seen to glamorise the use of guns and violence," the authority said in a statement.

William Hill Bingo players may know that the group added that the majority of people can differentiate between an action film and real life.

Festival offers refunds for Winehouse absence
A Paris music festival is offering refunds to its attendees after Amy Winehouse failed to show up for her scheduled performance.

The troubled singer did not make it to the Rock En Seine festival on Friday August 29th due to an unspecified illness – which resulted in the event’s organisers threatening legal action.

Fans who had tickets for that particular day are now being offered a €18 (£15) discount in way of compensation.

A statement from the organisers issued after Winehouse’s withdrawal said there was "no explanation of the exact reasons for her absence".

"We were told by her agent at 20:00 [19:00 BST] that she wasn’t coming."

William Hill Bingo players may know that Bestival organiser Rob da Bank said the singer is still expected to perform this weekend, but said he is prepared for any last-minute hitches.

"If she can’t do the gig, rest assured I do have a very good back-up plan. Have we ever let you down?," he said.
