Lily blames EMI for album delay
Lily Allen has blamed the delay of her forthcoming album on her record company EMI.

The Smile singer claims on her blog that changes at the organisation have held up the release of the record.

Some 2,000 jobs were axed when private equity firm Terra Firma bought EMI for £33.2 billion last year.

According to Allen, her album has "been finished for a while now".

"The record industry is a very political place at the moment," Allen wrote on her website.

"Lots of people have been fired or have taken redundancy recently as the company [EMI] was taken over.

"Many of these people were people assigned to my projects and now I don’t quite know what’s going on.

Ronson hits back at Noel
Mark Ronson has hit back at Noel Gallagher after the Oasis star made disparaging remarks about him on Radio 1.

During a rant which took in everyone from the Kaiser Chiefs, Scouting For Girls and Amy Winehouse, Gallagher said Ronson "needs to learn three chords on the guitar and write a tune, instead of ruining everyone else’s".

However, Ronson – who has produced both Winehouse and the Kaiser Chiefs – retorted on his MySpace blog.

"Noel Gallagher said I should ‘learn three chords on the guitar and go write a tune’," he wrote.

"So I just wanted him to know that I’m actually taking guitar lessons from Jay-Z right now and he’s already taught me both chords to Wonderwall."

He added that he also wrote a song called Back To Black, which "has seven chords in it."

Peaches visits ex on first night home
Peaches Geldof spent her first night home after getting married in Las Vegas with ex-boyfriend Faris Badwan.

The 19-year-old tied the knot with Chester French singer Max Drummey in a surprise ceremony last weekend.

However, the party girl reportedly called her former lover as soon as she touched down in the UK, followed by a meeting at her London flat.

A source close to Peaches said: "No one could believe Peaches had invited Faris round as soon as she got back, never mind let him stay the night.

"They were a couple before she went to Las Vegas, then she decides to get married on a whim, comes back and rings up Faris as if what she has done is the most normal thing in the world."

Solange Knowles ‘tired of Beyonce comparisons’
Solange Knowles has said she is already bored of being compared to her sister Beyonce.

The 22-year-old said she is constantly asked about her megastar sibling, but just tries to "make fun of it".

Solange – who has just released her debut single I Decided – even joked that she would turn into Britney and "shave my head and go totally crazy" if the comparisons continued.

"Sometimes I say she’s not my sister. Other times I say I’ve stuffed her in my suitcase and sent it to Dubai," she told the Daily Star.

She added how many people in her home country think she is "nutty" due to her outspoken nature.

"Probably not in the UK, because women here tend to be pretty frank and have a dry sense of humor, but back home for some reason they’re scared of me and think I’m a little nutty," she added.

Elsewhere, L’Oreal recently denied lightening the shade of Beyonce’s skin for its advertising campaign.

Peaches gets married in Vegas
Peaches Geldof has married her American boyfriend in a low-key ceremony in Las Vegas.

The 19-year-old wild child tied the knot with Max Drummey, 23, of the indie band Chester French.

Peaches’ father sir Bob was reportedly told about the wedding shortly before it took place and gave the nuptials his blessing.

However, the development may have come as something as a shock to ex-boyfriend Faris Badwan – with whom it was thought she was about to become engaged to.

A pal of Faris said last night: "I spoke to him at the weekend and as far as he was concerned they were still together. Now he doesn’t know what’s going on."

It is believed that the whirlwind romance came about around a month ago – although she apparently met Harvard graduate Max two years ago when she co-presented the ITV I-Tunes festival where his band were playing.
